I Remember...

When I was a kid, I got to perform in the IHM Christmas shows. To this day I believe that Mr. Trompeter had the greatest rendition ever of "O Holy Night". It was always the high point of the program, and I can still hear it today. Thank you for that gift! Condolences to Bernie, Dan, and the whole family as you celebrate a life well lived. Peace.

Many happy memories growing up on Asbury Park with the Sweets, Elliotts, Brownings, and, of course, the Trompeters. Eating dinner at the Trompeters meant no milk until you had eaten at least 1/2 of your dinner. And you were always greeted with Mr. Trompeter's huge smile and booming voice! I was in our IHM Christmas show called Night to Dawn and I agree with Dennis that Mr. Trompeter's version of "O Holy Night" was always the highlight of the show!!! So glad he's in the Heavenly Choir now!!

So sorry to hear of your loss.... Childhood memories come flooding back, seeing our parents playing cards and many more. Also remember the last time we saw your parents in Florida. We had a very nice dinner with them and with Paul in Port Charlotte. Your mom started to pour the remaining wine into my glass and my mother put her hand over my glass as if to say "she's had enough"! Most embarrassing and maddening at the time, but I will remember the eyeroll we shared that night! I too cannot hear "O Holy Night" without thinking of your dad.
