Stan taught me a lot about the art of molding rubber. He always made time for me and would answer any question I had no matter how trivial. For those that don't know, if you watch the "Modern Marvels" episode about Rubber on cable, you can see Stan in a couple spots sharing his knowledge. I am grateful to have known him. Carl Schenten
Memories
We remember how we met Stan and Shirley and the many great times that followed with "our golfing group". The cruises, our Sunday brunches, Palm Springs, the beach, his hearty laugh and the way he said Shirley Jean. Dick loved going to dinner and the movies when the girl's played bridge at night. We look around our home and remember all the repairs he made. He was a great listener even when he heard the same story three
times before. It was amazing to witness his engineering skills and woodworking skills. You will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
All our great get togethers and Stan, if he felt tired, would simply lay down on the floor and take a nap. Well one time we decided to pin a ribbon on him and when he woke up he couldn't figure out what was on his zipper - we got the best laugh. Stan was such a good sport. a good friend and a great family man. we will miss him.
I remember Stan always being a very positive, inspirational, and fun to work with. He was passionate and always pushing himself to seek solutions to improve technology for Federal-Mogul. At a quarterly meeting Fred Musone, President of Chassis Products praised Stan by pointing his finger at him and stating, "that man" and listed all of the projects Stan was leading improving Federal-Mogul. Stan must have felt proud. He certainly should have been! He had a true entrepreneurial spirit and he excited the people around him with his enthusiasm. I really enjoyed working on projects for him.
I worked with Stan at Federal-Mogul for many years. Stan was a great listener and a great explainer. He was always willing to listen to new ideas and was always great at explaining concepts is ways that made them clear. He worked tirelessly on projects, even after retirement. Thanks Stan for all your help over the years.
