I remember when my Uncle Marty would come to see me for manual therapy treatments for his shoulder and arms. I had such a blast listening to his navy and submarine stories! And I was so happy to be able to extend his tree climbing passion for a few more years and with less pain. I will miss his ramblings of the latin varieties of foliage as we walked around my yard, and the smile that would creep up out of nowhere to show you he had a sense of humor, and that he loved you. Fly high Uncle Marty! Enjoy the view of the trees from up above.
Memories
One Thanksgiving in Ferndale we had a conversation that lasted for a long time. It was all about trees and gardens. Marty told me I had a beautiful garden, a compliment I appreciated so much since it came from him.
I worked with Marty at General Motors in Production Control and knew him when he retired. Marty was always full of life -high energy, great stories and it was a pleasure to know him. My condolences to the family.
I met Martin at the Farmington Hills library....he was slowly typing on
Computer...i asked if I could help him
Turned out he was attempting to finish
An article on trees...he explained his wife usually did his word processing
But she was detained...he needed to get article in to publisher....
I took over and we got it done.
He gave his card and told me he was an arborist...had a tree service and if I ever needed trees trimmed ..or cut down to call him...I did....he showed up with his big truck...by himself he climbed up big tree and rid me of a big
Problem ...I tried to pay him and he refused....Said he was doing a kindness for someone who and done
him a kindess
I was deeply moved
I never saw him again
But I never forgot him
Martin Zaremba is a Great Man
May he rest in peace
