I Remember...

I met Bob in 1967 8th grade and we became best friends. We even worked our 1st jobs together. One story I can share: When Bob inlisted into the Army I decided it would be a good idea to visit him while he was in basic training. lol So I drove down to fort knox and got stop at the entrance gate. I told them I wanted to see Bob Mullins and gave his company name and # ... They told me where I could meet him so waited for a bit and Bob showed up. He said he can't leave the base but we could ride around the base. Then he said let's go get something to eat off of base. So we snuck off base and went to Burger Queen. (Yes Burger Queen) in Elizabethtown ky. We were sweating it for a bit until we got back on the base. That's all we had time for since Bob had to be back with his company. We had alot of good times when we were young and crazy. So many Great Memories with Bob 1 more His 67 Camaro.... We would leave school early so we had more free time. Go to Stoney Creek rd in Ypsilanti where he Would test that 327 engine & Hydramatic transmission. We would get on a straight away he would stop and put it in reverse fast and pull it in drive while still going in reverse. He would smoke those tires a good 200 ft. Do it a few times and satisfied it was working properly. And some memories are only ours. RIP Bob, love ya my friend

I always called him Bobby Gene. We played together and went to school together until they moved to Michigan. He would always try to visit me when he came to Clintwood. He had been to Clintwood just before he had to go to the hospital. He insisted on taking me out for dinner. I will always cherish the time we spent together . He was always so kind to me and everyone around him. I will truly miss him.

I remember Bobby from his early childhood. He and my youngest sister were born a day or two apart and remained close through the years. I missed his recent visit to Clintwood and regret that so much. Bobby was such a good person and was kind to everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.

What a gift it was to be able to spend time with my dad during his last days, I will cherish that for ever. I can assure you that even on his last day, he had the doctors and nurses cracking up;) He wanted me to tell you all: "Don't worry about me, I have had a great life!"
