In 1979 Lucretia hired me as a first-year teacher to teach 6th grade. She was very patient with this over-confident new teacher and helped me navigate teaching. Lucretia's sweet and gentle spirit commanded respect from her students all those years. They loved her, as we all did. When our kids attended SCS, some of the kids lovingly referred to her as "Powerhouse Pelton!"
