JAMES, Richard D. “Dick”, age 85, passed away January 14, 2014. Loving husband of Patricia (nee Boldes) of 59 years. Cherished father of Mark (Gail) James, Karen (Mark) Mitchell, Sue (Patrick) Cauley and Marianne James. Caring grandfather of Aaron Mitchell, Leah (Justin) Newman and Elizabeth Cauley. Brother of Betty Ann (Lloyd) Jones. Uncle of Nancy Johnson and Philip (Virginia) Jones. He is preceded in death by parents Jane (nee Lewis) and Robert James, brother Bob James and grandson Nathan Cauley. Dick’s trademark sense of humor and constant readiness to believe the best of the people he met in life endeared him to family, friends, and associates. He was born on October 17, 1928 in Toledo, OH and grew up in Lincoln Park, MI. He graduated with a degree in engineering from Wayne State University, spending most of his career with Nordstrom Samson Associates. Visitation Saturday 3-7 pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. Twelve Mile Rd. Farmington Hills. The family will have a private mass celebrating Dick’s life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Angela Hospice.
