Edward “Eddie” Olson, age 71 of Addison, Michigan passed away November 8, 2019. Ed was born to Melvin and Margaret Olson in Los Angeles, California on November 16, 1947. He was raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota with his younger sisters, Karen and Lynn. The family eventually moved to Wisconsin where he was a graduate of Cudahy High School.

Ed entered the United States Army in 1964 at 17 years old and served his country during the Vietnam War until his Honorable Discharge in 1970. Ed retired from Canton Township Department of Public Works as a supervisor where he worked from 1980 until his retirement in November 2008.  Upon retirement, Ed resumed his love for riding and spent many days riding his Harley with friends from Artesian Wells Tavern in Cement City. He enjoyed Lake Life caring for his yard and home and talking with neighbors. Ed was an avid Tiger Baseball and Michigan Football fan. Ed leaves behind many dear friends across the states.

Ed was the beloved husband of Betsy Olson for 25 years. Cherished son of Margaret Olson. Loving father to Eddie Olson (Lynn Christiansen), Jason Wells (Michelle) and Danielle George (Anthony). Master to his German Sheppard Sam and Tommy his cat. Proud Grandfather to Mark (Kim), Kelly, Nick (Susie) Olson, Alexandra and Anna George, Savannah, Nathan and Jacob Wells. Dear brother of Karen Francis (Scott) and Lynn Correa. He is also survived by his Aunt Audrey, Aunt Arlene and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Olson. Ed will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A Memorial Gathering for Ed will be Saturday, November 16th, at 10 a.m. until the time of his Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at McCabe Funeral Home - Canton Chapel, 851 N. Canton Center Road, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations are welcomed to The Gary Sinise Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
