Martin J. Zaremba, age 76 of Farmington Hills, passed away June 9, 2020. Martin was born in Detroit on December 5, 1943 to Frank and Bernice Zaremba. Raised in Harper Woods, Martin attended and graduated from St. Ambrose High School in Grosse Pointe. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served our country for 4 years. Subsequently, he trained at the United States Naval Submarine School and remained in the Boston area where he met his wife, Joanne. Together they had two daughters and found their way back to Michigan during the time in between. Martin spent most of his career with General Motors, starting on the assembly line and rising to a management position as a Production Planner. Marty’s true passion, however, was the outdoors. He was a certified arborist with the Massachusetts Arborists Association and continued to work as a tree care specialist when given the opportunity. Marty loved all outdoor activities and excelled at hunting and fishing. He was happy to be a long-time member of the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township. Marty made many great memories throughout his life with family and friends and will truly be missed. Martin was the beloved husband of Joanne for 51 years. Loving father of Kirsten Zaremba and Marsha Marten. Proud grandfather of Scott and Haley Vecheta. Dear brother of Claudia (the late Fred) Borcherts. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, June 12th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Marty's Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, June 13th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association, 3860 Newton Rd., Commerce Township. Please plan to meet by the dock on the lake and bring a camping chair if you would like to sit for his service. To keep all family members and friends safe, kindly remember to wear your mask. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Martin's name are appreciated to Michigan Operation Freedom Outdoors.Martin J. Zaremba
