Lucretia Shinozaki

May 22, 1934 - March 12, 2023

Lucretia J. Shinozaki, age 88 of West Bloomfield, passed away March 12, 2023. She was born May 22, 1934 in Placerville, California to George and Gertrude Loram.

Lucy was born and raised in California and met Samuel Shinozaki while he was studying abroad from Japan. On Sadie Hawkins Days, after a couple years of dating, Lucy asked Samuel to marry her. The two wed and made Michigan their new home when Samuel was offered a position with Ford Motor Company. Lucy worked as a department coordinator for Michigan State University’s Psychiatry Department. It was there that she also received her certificate in the University’s Master Gardener Program. She was a longtime and faithful member of Meadowbrook Congregational Church. Above all else, Lucy was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family dearly.

Lucy was the beloved wife of Samuel for 63 years. Loving mother of Jennifer (Edward) Vingsness, David (Thuy), Michael (Lynne), Peter (Minette), Laura (Kevin) Ryan, and the late Paul. Proud grandmother of Heather, Haley, Erik, Thomas, Joseph, Esita, Mark, Jasmine, Michael, and Kasey. Dear sister of the late John and the late Lorna.

Mrs. Shinozaki's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 15th, at 2:00 p.m. at Meadowbrook Congregational Church, 21355 Meadowbrook Rd., Novi.
