Patricia Cleary Hall, age 96, passed away on August 17th, 2023.

Pat’s early years were spent in Escanaba, MI with her parents, Ethal and Lawrence Cleary, and her brother, Bill. Around age 9 her family moved downstate to East Lansing and grew with the addition of her younger sister, Carol. Pat attended East Lansing schools and college at Michigan State University. It was at MSU where she met Robert “Bob” Hall and they began their life together.

Pat graduated from MSU with a Psychology degree and several years of office work at the Michigan State Capitol. She and Bob moved to Ft. Worth, TX, for a short time before settling back in Farmington, MI. Pat was an integral part of Bob and his brother Dixon’s business, Gordon B. Hall & Sons, as she was their bookkeeper and secretary for the business’ early years. Psychology degree and flexible secretarial hours came in handy while Pat and Bob raised their family. Winters consisted of family ski trips up north and out west. Summers were spent golfing, card playing and attending activities at Meadowbrook Country Club. Pat “encouraged” Bob to go out on a limb and buy a cottage on Lake Charlevoix in the fall of 1978. Pat has enjoyed every summer on Lake Charlevoix for the past 45 years.

Forever a Spartan, Pat attended Saturday MSU home football games well into her late 80’s. She loved to travel and she and Bob enjoyed time with other MSU alumni on trips to Europe, Asia and South America. Visiting Mackinac Island was a highlight of Pat’s summers up north. Spending time entertaining family and friends was a significant part of Pat’s life, along with being a voracious reader, crossword puzzle solver, knitter and fashionista. She loved sharing stories about her six grandchildren. Her “hardiness” as a Yooper helped her live a long and wonderful life.

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Robert Hall for 51 years. Loving mother of Kathleen Hall (Larry McKinzie), Daniel (Michelle Jurcak) Hall, and Kerry (Frank) Jacobs. Proud grandmother of Harrison, Spencer (Elizabeth Todd), and Hunter (Elizabeth Biros) Hall, Jason, Rachael, and Emily Jacobs. Dearest sister of the late William (Maxine) Cleary and Carol (Paul) Lucas.

Memorial Visitation for Patricia will be held Friday, August 25th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. Twelve Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Memorial gathering will continue Saturday, August 26th, fom 11:00 a.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
