Herminia Agustin

Herminia Agustin, age 75 of West Bloomfield, passed away April 23, 2024. She was born February 24, 1949, in Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines, to Virginia and Ernesto Gopiteo.

Herminia's journey began in Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines, where she spent her childhood before pursuing her dreams at Far Eastern University in Manila. In 1974, she proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, laying the foundation for a career dedicated to compassion and care.

During her university years, fate intervened, and Herminia crossed paths with Ricardo Agustin, igniting a love story that would span a lifetime. Despite the distance, their bond flourished, and the lovely couple were wed on June 28, 1980.

Herminia's professional journey led her to become a Nursing Supervisor at Medical City General Hospital, where her dedication and expertise touched countless lives. In 1985, Herminia and Ricardo embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States where they nurtured their growing family.

The birth of their daughter, Anna, in 1984, and their son, Rex, in 1986, brought immeasurable joy to Herminia and Ricardo. Herminia's devotion to her children knew no bounds, and she poured her love and wisdom into shaping their lives.

As her children grew, Herminia's family expanded, welcoming grandchildren who became the light of her life. Herminia cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, relishing in the joys of family gatherings and creating cherished memories.

Herminia's kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she delighted in preparing traditional Filipino dishes for her loved ones. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and her meals were savored by all who were fortunate enough to taste them.

Above all, Herminia was a beacon of love and strength for her family. Her unwavering devotion and selflessness were evident in every aspect of her life, making her an extraordinary mother and grandmother. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Herminia was the beloved wife of Ricardo for 43 years. Loving mother of Anna and Rex (Krystle). Proud Nanay of Rocky, Jordan, Jaden and Mason. Dearest sister of Ernita and Erlito. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Ernesto, and her siblings, Hernane, Elma, Editha, Ernesto, Jr. and Ernito.

Visitation for Herminia will be held Saturday, April 27th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 28th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Monday, April 29th, at 9:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Transfiguration, 25225 Code Rd., Southfield. Herminia will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
