William Frederick Zoller, age 78, of Commerce Township and formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on July 7, 2024. Bill fought a courageous battle against bile duct cancer over the past 11 months. Bill was a loving and devoted husband to the late Lynn and they were married for 54 years. He was a wonderful father to his two children Dan (Crystal) and Katherine (Alan) Dively. In total, he had five grandchildren: Cameron, Anabelle, Addison, Andrew, and Brynn and three sisters, Ellen Nustad, Nancy Green, and the late Jane Krebaum. Bill earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He later furthered his education by obtaining an MBA from the University of Michigan. Bill began his career at Double A, then Vickers, and Sun Hydraulics. His positive and humble demeanor combined with his engineering expertise helped him to have a long and prolific career. In addition, Bill proudly served as a lieutenant in the US Navy for 4 years and was stationed on the USS Daniel Webster nuclear submarine. A lifelong Lutheran, Bill was highly involved in several churches, most recently at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Livonia. He was a faithful servant and strongly believed in philanthropy. Bill was very talented at woodworking and enjoyed creating furniture and remodeling his homes. He also enjoyed biking, tennis, and softball. A Memorial Gathering for William will be held Saturday, August 17th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Mr. and Mrs. Zoller will be laid to rest on Monday, August 19th, at 11:00 a.m., with their committal service, along with military honors, to be held at Acacia Park Cemetery, 31300 Southfield Rd., Beverly Hills.
