Patricia J. Hood passed away July 26, 2024 at the age of 86. She was the devoted daughter of the late John Francis and Leona Lovas; loving mother of Jeanette (Jerry) Roach, Robert (Carol), Brian (Heidi), and the late Saundra Eansor; cherished grandmother of Robert, Michael (Sharon Glenn), Jennifer, Alexandra, Kayleigh, Evan, Alexis, and Allison; and dear sister of Loretta (late Frank) Birner and Bobbi Lovas. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was “capped”, graduating from the St Joseph’s Hospital of Nursing in 1957. She enjoyed a 50+ year career as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Medical Center Pediatrics. Many of the patients she saw as children brought in their children just for her.

Patricia was very active in her children’s lives. Her football dinners were legendary, with 3 turkeys, 3 beef roasts, ham, brownies, and never any leftovers. She practiced in arts and crafts, specializing in floral arrangements, pine-cone wreaths and Bake Shoppes, with each miniature treat created by hand. She enjoyed card club once a month, as well as Farkel and Rummicube.

Patricia was an active member at St. Fabian’s Catholic Church, overseeing the Women of St Fabian’s group, taking communion to senior centers, and Rosary readings.

Patricia's family will receive guests on Wednesday, July 31st, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. She will lie in state Thursday, August 1st, at 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. A Committal Service will be held at a future date at Good Samaritan Catholic Cemetery in Ambridge, PA where Patricia will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Patricia's name may be directed to the Michigan Humane Society or the Vietnam Veterans of America.
