On September 11, 2024, Irma B. McBeth (nee Nelson) passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 95 years old.

Born in Wyoming, married in Nebraska, she and her husband, John McBeth, chose Michigan to live and raise their large family of ten children. Irma’s greatest love and compassion was her family. All her children were proud to call her mom. Despite her large family, Irma always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband set an example that made sure that her family was provided for and had opportunities to grow. She was quite a creative person writing about little league baseball for the local newspaper, gardening, sewing, playing the piano and arts and crafts.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John P. McBeth, Sr., and by her sons John P. McBeth, Jr. and Thomas Nelson McBeth. She is survived by her sister Betty Ann Thomas, eight children Mari (Keaven Moutray), Catherine, Jeanne (Mark Zelazny), Robert (Sarah) Susan, Joseph (Linda), Michael, Carolyn (Brian Etzel), eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Simply put, the world is not better without her, but Heaven gained another saint.

A private family service for Irma will be held.
