Judith Kay Clay passed away September 1, 2024 the age of 84. Judy was the loving sister of Martha (John) Firment, and devoted aunt to her dear nephews Charles (Erica) and Dennis (Erin) Firment. Judy was fortunate to have three grand nephews and two grand nieces who were proud to call her Aunt Judy. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Clay, her parents William B. Dyer and Ellen L. Dyer, brother William B. Dyer, and life companion Bernard Michno. Judy was born on January 28, 1940 in Detroit to William and Ellen Dyer. She grew up attending church where she and her sister enjoyed singing with their mother in the choir. Judy later became a parishioner of Northwestern Christian Church of Detroit. She was an proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had been sober for over 50 years. Judy graduated with a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. She went on to teach at Leonard Elementary School, retiring after several years of dedication. Judy married the love of her of her life, Billy Clay, and the pair spent many years together. She was an avid traveler and had the opportunity to see much of the world. Judy cherished her time up north at their family cottage and often took her nephews alongside. She loved her family dearly and always reminded them of her love. Judy’s warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and beautiful smile will be truly missed.
