Valerie Sue Brassfield, age 62 of Jackson, passed away April 30, 2025. She was born December 25, 1962 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Roger K. and Mary Jane Hannibal.

Born on Christmas Day, Valerie was a true gift to the world and continued to share the loving spirit of the holiday throughout her life. Accomplished in the violin and piano, she was able to travel abroad as an orchestra member, enjoying new places and meeting new people. She was a self-proclaimed “foodie” with an enthusiast sweet tooth and had the most impressive memory of anyone you knew. Most of all, she was a genuinely kind and gentle soul. She cared so deeply for her family and was especially proud of her son and grandchildren.

Valerie was the loving mother of David (Nicole) and the late Carl. Proud grandmother of Liberty, Gracynn and Clyde. Dear sister of Roger (Kelly) Hannibal and Pamela (Harvey) Ettinger. Also survived by her nieces and nephews, Drew, Meagan, Shelby, Erik, and Shaun. She was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Mary Hannibal.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 9th, at 11:00 a.m., with gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m., at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
