Jane Woodruff

July 20, 1945 - June 20, 2025

Jane Woodruff, 79, of Farmington Hills, passed away on June 20, 2025. Born on July 20, 1945, in Derby, England, to Joyce and George Schwaegerman, Jane later made her home in the United States.

She graduated from Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Indiana, and began her college education at the University of Michigan before transferring to Purdue University. There, she earned two master’s degrees—an achievement that spoke to her dedication and intellect.

Jane spent much of her professional life in sales, a career in which she truly thrived. Her natural warmth, enthusiasm, and gift for conversation made her a standout in her field.

A devoted member of Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Jane was active in the Altar Guild and gave generously of her time and spirit. She also volunteered at the Detroit Zoo, particularly enjoying her work in the Australian Outback Adventure exhibit. A lover of the arts, she was a frequent visitor to the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Jane had an adventurous soul and a social heart. She loved to travel, meet new people, and engage in meaningful conversations, bringing light and laughter wherever she went.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived by her son Jon B. Woodruff, and her grandchildren Brittany E. Woodruff and Zachary J. Woodruff.

A Memorial Service for Jane will be held Sunday, August 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Cranbrook, 470 Church Rd., Bloomfield Hills.
