Raymond Burke, 88, of Belleville, Michigan and formerly of Jacksboro, Tennessee, passed away July 5, 2025, at his daughter’s home with her at his side. He was born June 16, 1937, in Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Oval and Mary Belle Burke. Raymond was preceded in death by both parents; his devoted and beloved wife of nearly 66 years, Margie Wanda Burke; two sons, Raymond Bruce Burke and Richard Brian Burke; his siblings and their spouses: Johnny, Bobby (Fanny), Donald (Patsy), Gladys (Bud), Lorene (Alan), as well as his wife Margie’s parents, her siblings and their spouses. Raymond proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, a true patriot with a love for the flag and for which it stands. A man of many talents and interests, he loved the great outdoors—fishing, hunting and collecting arrowheads and relics, harvesting ginseng, and the soothing sounds of a stream. He had a natural gift for gardening and small engine repair, and there was little he couldn't fix with his hands. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, relaxing with a good word search book or riding along with his son in law on the side-by-side through the Mountains. Any time spent with family was precious to him, as each one held a special place in his heart. Raymond was a welder by trade and in later years operated his own lawn care service. Raymond leaves behind his cherished devoted daughter Elizabeth Ann (Steve Mullins), grandchildren: Dylan Ray Lemasters, Cody Mullins, Barbara (Gary White), great grandchildren Madison White, and Jordan White. As well as special nieces, nephews and neighbors. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.Raymond Burke
