Verna Joan Kulbaba, 93, of Farmington Hills, MI passed away on July 15, 2025. Verna was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on August 11, 1931, to Jack and Annie Gladish. Verna moved to the United States after she met and married her husband, Peter, a member of the United States Navy. Their life together took them to the United States Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, before settling in Farmington, MI to raise their family. Verna embraced her new home and proudly became a naturalized United States citizen. Verna was a beloved and devoted mother to three children. She instilled in them a strong work ethic, and the importance of family. She cheered them on through every milestone, always offering a constant source of support and love. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought immense joy to her life. Verna delighted in her role as grandma to furry members of the family, oftentimes providing overnight care, snuggles and treats. A dedicated and respected professional, Verna built a successful career in real estate as both a Century 21 realtor and a broker. She was known for her integrity and unwavering commitment to her clients. Verna enjoyed spending time with her friends, finding joy and connection in her relationships. In her later years, Verna found community at Courtyard Manor of Farmington Hills. The staff provided exceptional care, companionship, fun, and adventure. Their kindness and dedication are appreciated. Verna will be remembered for her vibrant spirit that touched the lives of many, and her steady optimism. She was a woman of strong character, facing challenges with grace and determination. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and their son Terry, as well as her parents Jack and Annie Gladish. She is survived by her children, Janice (Thomas) Trionfi, Mark (Katherine) Kulbaba, and daughter in law, Florence Kulbaba; her grandchildren, Grace Ann (Devon) Holbrook, Kenneth (Amanda) Kulbaba, Peter (Brenna) Kulbaba; her great-grandchildren, Bella Rose, Ada; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. A private family celebration of life will be held to honor Verna’s memory.
