Ronald E. Lord

August 16, 1938 - August 18, 2025

With heavy hearts, the family of Ronald E. Lord announces his passing on August 18, 2025 at the age of 87. His well-fought fight with Dementia/Alzheimer’s was finally won on the other side of Heaven. Completely healed, now, his physical chains are gone; he has been set free.

Ron was, affectionately, known as ‘harmonica man.’ He always guarded and carried his favorite harp in his pocket, in case he felt someone needed to hear his rendition of “Amazing Grace.” His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion, and his unwavering faith in God. Some say there is a void in the hearts of those left behind, when someone that is so loved dies. One has to ask, how can a ‘void’ exist, when those we love can never be more than a thought away? As long as there’s a memory, Ron will fill our hearts, and flourish there forever. Memories sustain us, and tears will soon turn into smiles, from being a part of this special man’s life. Many were touched by Ron’s warm smile and his cheerful disposition.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at American House - Rochester Hills, for all the tender care they administered to Ron. And, now, we say to Ron, we thank you for the life we shared. Your life was a blessing; your memory a treasure. Our hearts are full because of you……

Ron was the loving husband of Judy for 12 years and the late Rita (’10) for 50 years. He was the devoted father of Steve, Mike (Karen), David (Lucy), Pamela (Don) Modrycki and step-father of Mandi (Steve) Yaris; cherished grandfather of Garrett (Jessica), Chelsea, Victor (Amy), Jack, Katie, and Laine Lord, Alexa (Matt) Rhodes, Erica (Nick) Kapolka, Matthew and Melissa Modrycki, and Madison and Cole Yaris; and proud great grandfather of Evie, Celia, Darcie, Josephine, and Greyson.
