Cecilia Elena Keith, 83, of Commerce Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born March 28, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Nancy and Giuseppe Colasanti. Cecilia grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods and lived a life defined by generosity, grace, and an unwavering devotion to family and community. Cecilia was the devoted wife of George Keith for 59 wonderful years. Together, they created a life filled with adventure, love, and treasured memories. Avid travelers, George and Cecilia spent their winter months in Florida and embarked on numerous journeys both across the United States and around the world, always eager to explore new places and create new experiences together. They shared a passion for discovering new cuisines at restaurants throughout Detroit and across the country, and cherished their annual tradition of attending the Stratford Festival. They also loved dancing and were always the hit of the dance floor, their joy and connection evident to all who watched them. A dedicated educator, Cecilia touched countless young lives during her many years as a second-grade teacher at Our Lady of Refuge School in Orchard Lake, Michigan. Her patience, creativity, and genuine love for children made her classroom a place where students flourished and discovered the joy of learning. Her impact extended beyond the classroom as she generously tutored children and adults learning English as a second language, always believing in the power of education to transform lives. A woman of deep faith, Cecilia was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Church in West Bloomfield, where her spiritual life provided strength and guidance throughout her journey. Her beautiful singing voice rang out loud and proud at Mass, a joyful expression of her devotion that will be dearly missed by her parish community. She was a faithful member of her weekly scripture group and graciously volunteered for countless funeral lunches at the church, providing comfort to grieving families through her gentle presence and thoughtful care. In God's perfect timing, Cecilia was called home on All Saints Day. Her commitment to service was extraordinary and touched countless lives throughout the community. Cecilia volunteered with the Oakland Literacy Council, Meals on Wheels, Gleaners, Huron Valley Hospital, Women for All Seasons, St. Christine Food Pantry, and the Father Solanus Center Women's Guild. Through these organizations and many others, Cecilia quietly made her community a better place, one act of kindness at a time. Her selfless dedication to helping others was a testament to her generous spirit and compassionate heart. A woman of elegance and class, Cecilia's warmth radiated through her legendary dinner parties and her gift for bringing people together around her table. An accomplished cook, she delighted in preparing meals that nourished both body and soul. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, delicious food, and the comfort of genuine connection. She treasured her book club, ladies luncheons, exercise group, and her wide circle of friends who will forever remember her wonderful smile and engaging conversation. An avid walker who valued fitness and wellness, Cecilia could often be found enjoying the outdoors, maintaining the vitality and energy that characterized her approach to life. Cecilia was predeceased by her beloved sisters Nancy Ann Miller, Dolores Mallo, and Phyllis Weber. She is survived by her sister Celeste Coyro; her loving husband George Keith; her three devoted children: Nancy Keith and her husband Dion Campbell, Susan Keith and her husband Mike Skonieczny, and Steven Keith and his wife Athena Keith; and her cherished grandsons Liam and Owen Keith, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her gift for conversation, her grace and elegance, and the warmth she brought to every life she touched. Memorial gathering for Cecilia will be held on Friday, November 14th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Eulogy Service, at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Gathering will continue on Saturday, November 15th, at 10:30 a.m., until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield.
