John Guyette

February 27, 1953 - November 28, 2025

John Guyette, age 72 of Farmington Hills, passed away on November 28, 2025. He was born in Detroit and grew up in a close-knit community, attending St. Gerard Elementary School before graduating from Henry Ford High School. From a young age, he developed a love for stories, something he carried throughout his life as he fondly recalled his years working at Rhodes, American Silhouette, Whitlock, and ultimately Ford Motor Company, where he retired in 2007.

A man who thrived in the outdoors, John loved tent camping and could always be found vacationing near any of the Great Lakes, especially Lake Michigan. In his younger years, he devoted countless hours to coaching his sons’ baseball teams and enthusiastically cheering on his children in all their activities. He enjoyed bicycling, swimming, golfing, and lively conversations about cars and politics, and in recent years took pleasure in a bit of gardening.

John was an avid sports fan, loyal to the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and always ready to cheer on any Michigan State University team. Later in life, some of his happiest moments were spent simply relaxing on the sofa, watching a game with a beer in hand, and cuddling with his sweet dog Rosie or his favorite grand dogs Frankie and Louie. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John was the beloved husband of Cynthia for 42 years. Loving father of Brent, Melanie (Jon), and the late Gregory (Stacey). Proud grandfather of Elliot and Iris. Cherished son of the late Jim and Donna. Dearest brother of Jim (the late Betty), Jacque, and Joni (Steve) and uncle of Jim, Mary, Andrew, Lauren, Ashley, Amanda, Lindsey, and Jake. He was also a dear son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

John's family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Scripture and Eulogy Service at McCabe Funeral Home – Farmington Hills, 31950 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. He will lie in state Wednesday, December 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s name may be directed to the Michigan Humane Society.
