Clara H. Stumpf, age 83 of Farmington Hills, passed away on January 27, 2026. Clara was the very definition of Mom. She did everything for her children. She was the classroom mom, the team mom. She packed lunches, helped with homework and school projects with unwavering patience. There is not a day that goes by that she is not remembered for the example she set as a mother. She gave endlessly to her family while seeking zero credit for it all. Clara’s favorite person and best friend was her husband, her “Benny.” High school sweethearts from the ages of fifteen and sixteen, they shared a lifelong love. Clara was the smart band majorette and classically trained pianist. Ben was the handsome athlete who excelled at every sport he touched. Together they created a loving and supportive home for their family. Clara was by Benny’s side throughout his life, and he lovingly returned that devotion by caring for her during the last years of her life. Clara had many talents and interests including cake decorating, ceramics, piano and gardening. She loved having her hands in the dirt tending to her beautiful flowers and meticulously manicured yard. Clara taught piano lessons for many years and was so adored by her sweet students. It gave her great pride to celebrate their talents in annual recitals which were always followed up with her delicious homemade goodies. She took such joy in being a grandmother and so enjoyed their many family dinners together. Also, wonderful memories of annual trips to Disney World will be cherished forever. Clara will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness and the immeasurable love she gave so freely. Clara was the beloved wife of Benjamin Stumpf. Loving mother of Richard (Kelli) Stumpf and Sandra (Bruce) Wilber. Proud grandmother of Morgan Marquette, Lexi Sheehan, Casey Stumpf, MacKenzie Stumpf, Callie Wilber and great grandmother of Hunter Moree. Dearest sister of Jack (Carolyn) Knaggs and sister-in-law of Robert (Michele) Stumpf. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Clara will be held Monday, February 2nd, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home Farmington Hills Chapel, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will be laid to rest in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan. Memorial donations in Clara's name may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner’s Children’s, or Walled Lake Special Olympics (Checks can be made out to Team Walled Lake).
