Ida Domenica Mucciante, age 95 of Novi, passed away February 5, 2026. She was born August 7, 1930 in Detroit to Mattia and Pasqua Mucciante.

A 1952 graduate of The Detroit Conservatory of Music, Ida loved two worlds – classical music and the business world. She taught private piano for 30 years. From her high school days and beyond, she enjoyed being an accompanist for many vocalists and instrumentalists. From the very beginning, Ida was an active part of the music scene, serving on executive boards including Tuesday Musicale of Detroit, Chamber Soloists of Detroit, Cantata Academy, and was an active member of Birmingham Musicale. She served as President for Sigma Alpha Iota, Delta Chapter 1972-1974. Additionally, she enjoyed doing promotional music publicity.

In the business world, Ida worked at Carrier & Gable, Inc., as a manufacturers’ representative in Farmington Hills for 48 years. She was also a member of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and President of Farmington Industrial Association.

Ida is survived by nine nieces and nephews as well as many great, and great-great nieces and nephews too. She was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence, Anthony, Albert and Elio, and her sisters Maria Petricola and Helen Witkowski.

Visitation for Ida will be held on Thursday, February 12th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with an evening Rosary Service, at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Friday, February 13th, at 10:30 a.m., until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ida’s name can be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
