Diane Marie Kansier

July 20, 1949 - February 22, 2026

Diane Marie Kansier (nee Sprecher) entered eternal rest on February 22, 2026. Diane passed peacefully in her sleep following an extended illness, with her devoted husband of 56 years, Denis A. Kansier, Sr., by her side.

Born Diane Marie Sprecher in Detroit, Michigan to John Anthony and Marie Eleanor Sprecher in 1949, Diane was the oldest of 10 children, which made for a very lively household. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and dearest brother, Mark Sprecher (Betsy). She is survived by her son, Denis (“Denny”) A. Kansier, Jr. (Janine), and eight siblings: David Sprecher (Bernadette), Joanne Love, Kevin Sprecher (Janice), Suzanne Anzell (Christopher), John Sprecher (Danielle), Julianne Brown (Patrick), Matthew Sprecher (Laurie), and Laurianne Sprecher (Paul). She was also the proud grandmother of four wonderful grandsons, Billy, Brendan, Shane and Alex. Diane also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins who were a source of constant joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, as well as her adored rescue pup, Abbey Rose.

Diane graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in 1967 and met Denis shortly thereafter. They married in July 1969 and had Denny in July 1970. While Diane’s focus was on raising her family, she also enjoyed time outside the home as a dental assistant, hosting book fairs, and working in clothing and department stores.

Diane, Denis and Denny had many great adventures together, including moves both domestic and abroad as part of Denis’s job with Ford Motor Company. After spending five years in St. Louis, Denis and Diane packed up and moved to Australia, inspiring her love of travel, including trips to Hong Kong, Singapore and Fiji. To her delight, Denny was able to join them for an extended stay. Upon their return to the States, the family settled in Farmington Hills, Michigan and continued to enjoy travel, although closer to home, including to their cottage in Oscoda, Michigan. Denis and Diane eventually purchased an RV which allowed them to include their cherished dogs on their journeys.

Diane was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Fabian Catholic Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan for more than 35 years. Her faith brought comfort to her and those around her during her extended illness. Prayer books, crosses and Rosary beads were always within reach and provided her with much needed peace. Diane was a deeply caring person and practiced her faith to help others. She knit prayer shawls, taught religious classes, and served her church community in many ways.

Diane also had a love of animals and enjoyed many pets over the years including a cat, rabbit, dogs and even birds. In more recent years, she enjoyed the backyard pond Denis built for her adorned with a waterfall, plenty of koi, and beautiful water lilies. The pond attracted local wildlife adding to Diane’s enjoyment. Diane also had a passion for flowers and gardening and was a member of the Farmington Hills Garden Club for many years, twice serving as president. Through friendship, family and flowers, Diane made the world a more beautiful place.

The family will welcome visitors from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd at the Farmington Hills Chapel of McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 West Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334 with a 7 p.m. Rosary service.
