Franco Santos Alejandro, age 95, of Canton, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026.

Franco was a private man of few words who let his actions speak for him. He was resourceful and a reliable provider for his family throughout his life. For over 70 years, Franco dedicated himself to the profession of barbering. He operated a barber shop in front of the family home in Laoag City, where his steady hand, discipline, and work ethic made him well known in the community. In a tradition especially dear to him, Franco proudly gave most of his great-grandchildren their very first haircut, a memory that will forever be treasured.

In his younger years, Franco was athletic and played basketball in high school, serving as team captain, a role that reflected his quiet leadership and teamwork. He maintained an active lifestyle throughout his life and greatly enjoyed being outdoors. Franco loved gardening, fishing, went on daily bike rides, and made walking outside an essential part of his everyday routine.

Franco also found joy in life’s simple pleasures—desserts, seafood, and a good cup of coffee, enjoyed with quiet appreciation. Though not one to laugh often, when Franco laughed, it was delightful to see—warm, sincere, and deeply contagious, bringing light to those around him, most especially his wife, whom he delighted in making smile.

He had a soft spot for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending countless hours babysitting them and quietly watching over them with devotion. He enjoyed playing games with them, including Bingo, cards, and chess, creating moments filled with laughter, bonding, and lasting family memories. Franco will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

Franco was the beloved husband of Visitacion for 72 years. Loving father of William (Mycha), Josephine (Rolando) Llanes, and Ernie (Vera) Alejandro. Proud grandfather of Vicrist (Alan) Caalim, Vincent (Shay), Bourne Czar, Mark, Rolaine (Huy-Linh) Dang, and Frank Lloyd (Sinta) Alejandro and great-grandfather of Benedict, Kyle, Lucas, Kolbe, Xavier, Fabian, and Dominic. Dearest brother of 7 siblings.

Visitation for Franco will be held Sunday, April 26th, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home - Canton Chapel, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 27th, at 12:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home - Canton Chapel.
