Marie Theresa McLean, age 83, passed away on April 29, 2026.

Marie was born on August 15, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to Leo and Alice Gray. She graduated from the University of Detroit in 1964. She then went on to pursue her true passion in life, becoming a high school teacher at Berkley High School, where she dedicated over 21 years to her students before retiring in 2004.

Marie had a deep love of travel, both within the United States and abroad. One of her most memorable trips was to Russia with her husband prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall. She also cherished time spent visiting her good friend, Carol, in Northport, Michigan. At home, Marie found joy in gardening and took pride in the many plants that filled both her house and her yard. In recent years, she especially enjoyed playing cards with friends. Above all else, the greatest joy and most cherished blessing of Marie's life was her deep and enduring 39-year marriage to her beloved husband, Mike, whom she wed in 1965 and who preceded her in death in 2004.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Mike McLean. Loving mother of Michael (Julie) and Matt McLean. Cherished grandmother of Tom Larson, the late Tyler, Emily, and Brenden McLean.

Memorial visitation for Marie will be held on Friday, May 8th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service, at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Memorial gathering will continue on Saturday, May 9th, at 12:00 p.m., until the time of her Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m., at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills. Following the Funeral Mass, a luncheon will be held at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marie's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
