Marjorie Powell, age 90, of Farmington Hills, passed away on May 19, 2026.

Marjorie attended Western Michigan University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, an achievement that foreshadowed the dedication she would bring to education throughout her life. A proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, she remained actively involved with her chapter long after graduation, maintaining cherished friendships and a lifelong sense of sisterhood.

Marjorie built a distinguished career as a teacher at North Farmington High School, where she taught English, Psychology, and History until her retirement. Her passion for learning and her gift for connecting with young people left a lasting impression on generations of students. In retirement, she remained engaged with the community through her retired teachers group, continuing to champion the bonds formed in the classroom.

Beyond the classroom, Marjorie had a deep and abiding love for antique dollhouses. An avid collector, she shared her expertise and enthusiasm through published articles in dollhouse collector magazines, bringing joy to a community of fellow enthusiasts who admired her knowledge and eye for detail.

Nothing brought Marjorie more happiness than her grandchildren. She loved them deeply and left each of them with memories of a grandmother whose devotion knew no bounds.

Marjorie is survived by her beloved granddaughters, Allison Osterdale, Ashley (Joshua) Shewmaker, and Katelyn Osterdale, as well as her sons-in-law, Alan Osterdale and Stephen Czapiewski. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David, and her daughters, Suzanne Osterdale and Janet Powell.

Visitation for Marjorie will be held Tuesday, May 26th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 27th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Marjorie will be laid to rest in Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia.
