June Lauraine (Edwards) VanCleave, a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated healthcare professional, built a beautiful life with her beloved husband Lucian. She passed away on June 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in family, love, and a life lived fully. June was known above all else for her love of her children. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Alongside that, June dedicated more than 20 years of her life to a career in healthcare, serving others with the same compassion she brought to everything she did. In 1988, June married the love of her life, Lucian "Chief" VanCleave. For 38 years, they were inseparable companions — raising their children, playing pool in the basement, camping up north, and admiring antique cars. June was a wonderful cook and made sure to always have a feast at holidays for her family to gather at their home. She had a special love for her vinyl record collection that spanned decades, and she treasured nothing more than sitting around a campfire up north listening to country music under the stars. June learned mechanics as a young girl alongside her father, a passion she carried with her throughout her life. She loved riding her motorcycle and driving and fixing cars whenever she could. June is survived by her beloved children and their families: her son Louie Edwards; her daughter Audra Chase (Greg Creech); her son Taylor (Tina) Chase; her son Andrew Schoen (Melissa Schreiber); her son Lucian Andy (Dominica "Niki") VanCleave Ill; and her daughter Charlotte "Char" (Joey) Dabish. June was the proud grandmother of Taylor (Mikayla), Victoria, Ryann, Jaiden, Joanna (Tegan), Lucas, Noah, William (Malissa), Taylor, Carlos, Timothy, Kenny, Spencer, and Kayla, and the cherished great-grandmother of Rylee, Baylee, Maybelle, Emmie, and Edison. June was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian VanCleave Jr.; her parents, James T. Edwards and Lucille P. Duncan; her sister, Jeannie Metcalf; and her brother, James Edwards. Memorial Visitation for June will be held on Saturday, June 13th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (which is now Blood Cancer United).
