Luke Haglund

May 13, 1982 - June 24, 2026

Luke Haglund, 44, passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 24th. He was a proud Army veteran who served his country with honor and continued that spirit of service throughout his civilian career.

For 19 years, Luke dedicated himself to serving fellow veterans as an Administratve Officer with the Veterans Benefits Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He took great pride in supporting those who had served and was known for his commitment, compassion, and unwavering work ethic.

Outside of work, Luke found peace in the outdoors. He loved fishing, spending time in nature, and embracing the simple joys that came with being outside. He also had an incredible sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. His quick wit, infectious smile, and ability to brighten any room will be remembered by all who knew him.

Above all, Luke treasured his family. His nephew, Cal, was the light of his life, and Luke rarely missed an opportunity to cheer him on from the stands at his baseball games. The bond they shared brought Luke immeasurable joy and created memories that will be cherished forever.

Luke is survived by his loving mother, Kim LaCasse, and stepfather, Ron LaCasse, of Tawas City; his sister, Raegan Movinski, brother-in-law, Chris Movinski, and beloved nephew, Cal Movinski, of Canton, Michigan. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and fellow veterans who will deeply miss his kindness, laughter, and generous spirit.

Luke’s legacy of service, love for his family, and ability to bring joy to those around him will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Per Luke’s request, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations promoting fishing and youth sports.
