Enriqueta Catalan Alanzo, age 90, passed away on July 13, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1935, in Manila, Philippines. Known to family and friends as Ruth, she was a dedicated mother and faithful wife to her family, and a mentor to her siblings.

A devout Catholic, she instilled her faith in both her family and friends throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her sisters in Arizona and Ohio, and after she and her husband retired, she loved traveling with him to Europe and the Philippines.

In 1967, Ruth immigrated to the United States with her family. After a brief time in Ohio, she and her husband moved to Detroit, Michigan, so he could begin his long career with the Ford Motor Company. Although she held a law degree in Criminal Justice, she put her business acumen to work running several nursing homes as an Administrator, until she retired with her husband to Arizona. There, she loved having her grandchildren stay with her at her retirement home each summer during their school breaks. Ruth was the epitome of motherhood to all her children, and she will be deeply missed.

Enriqueta was the beloved wife of the late Eladio. Loving mother of Eric (Rhonda), Ellaine (Rich), and EJ. Proud grandmother of Bryan (Cindy), Bradley (Elizabeth), Erica (John), Jennifer, and Elena, and great-grandmother of Brandon, Bruce, Lily, and Lucy. Dearest sister of Dativa, Lourdes, Augusto, and Abyssinia.

The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Alanzo will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. with memorial gathering beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. Twelve Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
