Brian S. Bumgardner, age 70 of Canton, passed away on August 3, 2026. He was born on August 2, 1956, in Garden City, Michigan, to Joseph and Mona Bumgardner. Brian graduated from Pinckney High School in 1974, after which he enlisted in the Army. Following his return, he began a career with General Motors, where he worked for over 40 years until his retirement.

Brian had a deep love for the outdoors and spending time on the water. He enjoyed kayaking, camping, hiking, and fishing, and was also an avid scuba diver, with the Philippines standing out as one of his favorite dive spots. His love of adventure carried over into his travels, taking him to destinations all over Canada, Europe, Central America, and Asia. He held a special fondness for exploring Asian countries.

At home, Brian was often found in his garage workshop, where he enjoyed building furniture such as shelving and took pride in repairing things around the house or for others.

Brian will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of the outdoors, and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brian was the beloved husband of Arsenia for 38 years. Loving father of Ian. Dearest brother of Abigail (Stephen) Balazs and Greta Bray. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Visitation for Mr. Bumgardner will be held on Sunday, August 9th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Novena Service at 6:30 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 10th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
