Sandra Sue McConchie, age 72, of Belleville, Michigan, passed away on August 9, 2026. She was born on April 23, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Frances Strong.

Sandi was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmama. She is survived by her husband, Mark; her daughter, Joanna (Mark); and her grandson, Marcus, to whom she was a loving Grandmama. She was also a caring sister and a cherished aunt who brought joy to all her family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Strong; her mother, Frances Strong; and her nephew, Ryan Strong.

Sandi lived a life full of love for her family and her animals. She and Mark would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 1st. She especially loved her Yorkie, Thaddeus, and cherished every moment spent with her family. She retired from the Canton Meijer after 35 years.

Sandi loved shopping, gardening, reading, crafting, and quilting, and later in life found joy in audiobooks as well. She delighted in decorating and celebrating holidays with her family, and always kept an ice-cold bottle of Pepsi close by, along with her favorite sweets: ice cream and anything chocolate. These simple pleasures were a gift passed down from her mother, Frances.

She brought that same passion into her home, where her unique decorating style blended her love of Victorian elegance with the adventurous spirit of an African safari, creating a space that was truly one of a kind. Whatever the project, Sandi approached it with ambition, ingenuity, and pride in doing the work herself.

Sandi will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her. A private memorial will be held at a future date to be determined, and she will be cremated and laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery, near her parents and nephew.
