Adam Peter Angelas was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 20, 1936, and passed away peacefully at his home in Commerce Township, Michigan, on August 22, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-five years, Calliope A. Angelas; son Peter A. (Gina) Angelas; and daughter Anita (Dino) Kondyles. He was a proud grandfather to Adam Angelas, Dimitri (Amanda) Angelas, Alexander (Julie) Angelas, Loukas Kondyles, and Chrysoula Kondyles. He is also survived by nephew Peter K. (Kathy) Angelas and their children, Dinos, Katie, and Amalia; nephew George K. (Debbie) Angelas and their children, Pete, Andrea, and Maria; and niece Despina (Basile) Catsikopoulos and their children, John, Stephanie, and Maria. He was predeceased by his father, Peter K. Angelas; his mother, Pagona Angelas; and his brothers, Gus Angelas and Adam Angelas.

Adam graduated from Cleveland Marshall Law School in 1963 and began his career as a prosecutor in Cleveland before moving to Michigan in 1969, where he spent the rest of his career with Wayne County, Detroit, serving as the Sheriff's legal advisor and Director of Court Services until his retirement in 1994.

Beyond his professional achievements, Adam was a cornerstone of his community, devoting himself to numerous civic, religious, and professional organizations. A lifelong member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan, he served as past president and as a member of the parish council. He was also an active member of the Hellenic Bar Association, the Holy Cross Church Choir, and the Huron Valley Choir, and he served on the board of his neighborhood association. Throughout his career, he mentored young attorneys and helped many of them launch their own paths in law, always committed to using his time and talent to enrich the lives of others.

Adam was a loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, godfather, legal counselor, and mentor, guided always by the deep Christian faith that gave him strength and purpose throughout his life. He loved boating, a passion he shared generously with others, and he delighted in entertaining friends and family in his home. He loved to sing, and he was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved.

Adam Peter Angelas will be profoundly missed, but his warmth, wisdom, and spirit will never be forgotten. May his memory be eternal.

Visitation for Mr. Angelas will be held on Sunday, August 30th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 4:45 p.m. Eulogy Service and Trisagion at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. He will lie in state on Monday, August 31st, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 25225 Middlebelt Rd., Farmington Hills. Mr. Angelas will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, Ohio.
