Bruce Kenton Shaffer, 52, passed away on August 27, 2026. He was born June 23, 1974, in Kettering, Ohio. Bruce was a wonderful father, a loving spouse, and a great friend to many, the kind of person who made everyone around him feel like family. He loved fishing, especially on his trips to Canada, where he found peace out on the water and always came home with a story worth telling. He was a devoted University of Michigan football fan, cheering on the Wolverines through every season, and he was proud to call himself a Sig Ep fraternity brother, holding onto those friendships and memories throughout his life. His sons and his new grandbaby were the light of his life, and he beamed with pride watching his family grow. Bruce had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a story, a little embellished, of course, but always entertaining and always worth the laugh it brought. But more than anything, Bruce loved seeing the people around him happy and cared for. He had a gift for showing up for others, whether through a helping hand, a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there when it mattered. Acts of service were truly his love language, and it was through giving of himself that he felt most at home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Shaffer; his sons, Reid Shaffer and Brennan (Taylor Joles) Shaffer; his grandchild, Baby Avery; his mother, Gayle E. Shaffer; his brother, Andrew Shaffer; his in laws, John and Patty Molloy; and his sisters and brothers in law, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
