Dorothea "Dorothy" Priebe, age 93, passed away on September 19, 2026. She was born on February 5, 1933, in Torhout, Belgium, to Henri and Elisa Maelbrancke. When she was five years old, Dorothy and her family immigrated to the United States aboard the Queen Mary.

On September 4, 1954, Dorothy married the love of her life, Edward Priebe, beginning a partnership that would last more than six decades. Together they raised four wonderful children, instilling in them the values to grow into successful, caring adults. After  retirement, they traveled extensively and became snowbirds, spending their winters in Sun City West, Arizona and summers at their cottage Up North in Michigan, enjoying the lake life. Along the way, they made many good, lifelong friends.

Dorothy loved playing card games, especially bridge, and she enjoyed square dancing. She also loved the outdoors and all animals. Known for her generous heart, she often invited those without family to her events and holiday gatherings so that no one would be alone. Dorothy's kindness and warmth touched all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Edward for 63 years. She was the loving mother of Sharon Bobowski, Susan (Randy) Earp, Bruce (Donna) Priebe, and Sharlene (Terry Holmes) Priebe. She was the proud grandmother of Jessica (Noah) Gajda, Matthew (Erika) Priebe, and Scott (Alexandra) Priebe, and the great-grandmother of John and Nadine Gajda and Evelyn Priebe. She was the dearest sister of the late Bernice.

Memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be directed to a charity of your choice.
