I Remember...

Mr. Paiva had a way of always making me feel welcome, he always smiled when anyone entered the room and was always genuinely interested in how you were doing. I loved his stories and the passion with which he lived his life. He certainly had a way with animals, he named the squirrels (at least his favorites) and always had some food out for them. The Paiva's was the place to go for great food made with love by Mrs. Paiva and the best conversation no matter what the time of day. The mold was broken with Mr. Paiva. May he Rest in Peace. Condolences to the Paiva family and all who knew him. Love, Sandy

Tony was a great conversationalist, even keeled and wise. There was a time during the early 80's that it seemed like every Sunday was 60 minutes night at Bonnie and Tony's. Great appetizers and conversation. He taught me a skill that I still have today in that he was a real craftsman at refinishing old rifles and turned them into works of art. Thankful that I was able to be included in those days. God bless the Paiva family.

I remember the time Tony was helping Chris move into his first house. It was 90 degrees out and he was wearing a polo shirt and dress slacks. We all tried to get him to take a break but he wouldn't. I struck up a conversation with him about golf and he says " did I ever tell you about the time I met Bobby Jones?" I said "no". Well for the next half hour he told me this amazing story about meeting a golf celebrity 50 something years ago. He left no detail out. It was great. He only stopped talking to drink some ice water. I was just trying to get him to stop working but ended up really enjoying the tale. 3 or 4 years later I ran into him at one of his great granddaughters birthday and he remembered me. I asked him to tell me the story again and he did .. verbatim.... No embellishments. And exactly as before. And even knowing the outcome I was a enthralled as the time before. I didn't know him much more than that, but reading his obit and knowing his family, it seems he lived a full life and did it well. RIP
