Mr Neubacher was our 8th grade teacher for the class of 1950 at Detroit's Isaac Newton School. We all have fond memories of him and enjoyed spending time with him at reunions after we were all 70 years old. I was sorry to hear of his death and regret not keeping in touch with him in the last few years. He was always kind, gently teased , and remembered. Janet VanDerSluys Brown
Memories
Jim was Executive Director of Common Ground when I first started there and when I became board chair. He brought great organizational skills to the agency and tried to move us into more balanced funding.
He loved playing tennis, and I had a lot of fun playing tennis with his wife, Margaret.
Jim was straight shooter and a fair and caring man.
Wanted to express my condolences to Jim's family. I knew Jim when he became director at Common Ground in Birmingham which was, I am sure a very new and challenging job for him. He brought to the agency a needed level of professionalism and started the community growth which was the foundation for what Common Ground is today.
I lived across the street from the Neubachers for many years and babysat for their 5 children. They were a wonderful family, and Jim (Mr.Neubacher, as I knew him)
was a great husband and father. He and his wife (Marge) raised five wonderful and beautiful children. He was a good man and had a great sense of humor. I know he will be missed.
