I Remember...

Dave, I, and a third ex-colleague shared countless general-discussion type emails over the years about military matters across nearly all its branches (6), but more pointedly concerning the US Army and Navy, especially in relation to military engines and their vehicles, our specific interest. I have never known a man more knowledgeable about general military history than he. He was literally a fount of such information, the dates of battles fought, the officers and men who fought them, the reasons for the conflict(s), and the array of weapons employed. His vast knowledge was such that in my humble judgment he could have been a military historian had he sought such gainful employment. All around, Dave was a gentleman's gentleman and notably trustworthy colleague. While his work duties shall pass to a younger cohort of course, Dave will never be replaced. Period.

Dave was a close friend in high school and in his 2 years at NMU in Marquette. We were roommates in college - played a lot of Euchre, rode our motorcycles around Michigan, played some golf, and generally had similar interests and goals in life. We did not see much of each other after I got married had our 5 kids in the '80s and early '90s. He was an authentic, fun, guy who I miss a great deal today.

Dave had a great sense of humor and brought a dedicated passion for his work to the office. He loved to talk about his sons and their advancements throughout life and I will miss his insightful anecdotes, especially on the many world events that impacted our business.
