I Remember...

Bernice was one class act. Bernice had a very fulfilling life. She worked at a time when most women were at home with their children and had a very successful career. I love that she served during World War 11. Bernice was very close to my Mom, Paula Gworek (Kurczewski). When they were young and single they would go to beer gardens and have a great time. I remember her when I was a young child and she would visit our house. I thought she was the prettiest lady in the whole world. She have me a teddy bear that I carried around for years. In fact I loved it so much, I found one that looked just like it this past year and my husband Ron bought it for me. I'm so glad I was able to share a few Thanksgivings with her and Christmas. God Bless you Bernice. I will miss you very much. I really loved you. Sue Hocking (Gworek) Part of the Kurczewski clan.

Well into her 90s, my Aunt Bernice was taking a yoga class at the senior center. She said she noticed through the glass a woman of her age in the room next door in another yoga class. She thought to herself that she should befriend that woman and become yoga buddies. As she neared the glass, she saw the woman coming to her. Alas!! The glass was a mirror, and she was looking at herself. Oh how she laughed. She loved telling that story!!

Cousin Bernice (one generation up from myself) was a great inspiration for kindness to everyone. Every time I visited her, she always had a good story of her youth to tell. Also never a bad word about anyone. I was most impressed with her uncanny ability to bring her younger years to life once I was talking with her for a while. Also she mentioned how her career choices evolved in her days. I give her credit for doing so well with her life. Rest in Peace Bernice
