Dr. Philip Cramer, MD, age 84 of Farmington Hills, passed away December 1, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Mimi for 53 years. Loving father of Marge (Jeff) Stone and Cindy (Scott) Simon. Dear Papa of Elin, Ann, Ed, Emily, Parker, Colton and Andrew. 

Phil was born in Bluffton, Ohio, May 3, 1936, to Rev. Roy and Charlotte Cramer, and grew up with his older sister, Marjorie Ann (1933-2009). Phil enjoyed tennis and chess as a child and became an impressive pianist through his hard work and dedication. He graduated from Case Western Reserve Medical school in Ohio, served in the Navy as a flight surgeon (1961-1966), and went on to a successful career as a pulmonologist with the Detroit Health Department, where he worked for nearly 40 years battling Tuberculosis.

Phil and Mimi enjoyed birding, collecting antiques, camping with friends and family, and traveling to Turkey, Switzerland, Africa, and many U.S. States, as well as skiing in Michigan, Colorado, and New England. Phil skied at Pico Mountain in Vermont when he was 75! Phil was a dedicated family man who enjoyed reading to his children and grandchildren when they were young and attending countless swim meets, soccer games, dance performances, and musical recitals. Phil loved his childhood model train that he shared with his daughters and grandchildren every year at Christmastime, and his beloved 1969 Volkswagen Beetle, which he took for a spin just a few weeks before his death. He always enjoyed a lively discussion on current affairs, and is already missed by many. We love you, Dad!
