Aira Cristina Goletz

May 3, 1971 - June 1, 2026

Aira Cristina Goletz, age 55, of Farmington Hills, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, after a courageous eight-year battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Goletz for 25 years; loving mother of Andrew, Matthew, and Adam Goletz; cherished daughter of Espedito and Rita Quaglia; and dearest sister of Ezio Quaglia and aunt of Lauren Lapointe.

Born on May 3, 1971, in Windsor, Ontario, Aira earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from the prestigious McMaster University and her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Wayne State University. A proud dual citizen of Canada and the United States and fluent in four languages, she dedicated herself to two jobs simultaneously to care for her family. She served her community full-time for over 25 years at the Academy of the Americas in Detroit and worked additionally for the State of Michigan, where she visited homes after her regular shifts to evaluate children in need.

Family was the absolute center of Aira's world, and she was truly the glue that held her loved ones together. She built a home filled with warmth for her sons and their friends, becoming a second mother to many. From leading Boy Scouts and supporting marching bands to planning family camping trips, she invested her whole heart into raising her boys. Even while facing her illness, she continued to host family holidays, welcoming everyone with a quiet, unwavering strength that defined her character.

Her gentle heart and instinct to care for others extended deeply to animals as well. Aira opened her heart and home to countless pets in need, including her beloved rescue dog, Cutie. She was a dedicated monthly donor to the Michigan Humane Society, always stepping forward to provide a safe haven for any creature without a home.

She left a lasting mark on countless hearts and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial Visitation: Thursday, June 11th, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Scripture & Eulogy at 7:00 p.m.) at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Funeral Mass: Friday, June 12th, 11:00 a.m. (Gathering at 10:30 a.m.) at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Goletz's name may be directed to the Michigan Humane Society, the Detroit Children’s Fund, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
