GORDON C. HETU, age 73 of Northville, MI passed away on August 13th, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1953 in Oak Park, Michigan to Stuart and Barbara Hetu. Beloved husband of Paulette McDonald for 5 years. Cherished father of Scott (Dr. Ashley Pepple) Hetu of Iowa City, Iowa and Shaun (Breann DeGrendel) Hetu of Dallas, Texas. Dear brother of Kathleen (Steve) Gaynor and James ‘Jim’ Hetu. Also survived by his step-son Patrick (Aleshia) McDonald and step-grandchildren Talon, Scarlett and Piper. Gordie was predeceased by his devoted wife of 27 loving years, Kathryn Hetu. 

Gordie was an amazing person, family member, and friend who brought joy to those around him. He loved traveling, playing trivia, working on puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. A lifelong sports fan, Gordie proudly supported his Detroit Lions and Tigers and was a dedicated MSU Spartan since graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Urban Planning in 1975. Gordie had a deep passion for music and proudly built a vinyl collection of more than 600 records. He also dedicated many years to a successful career in electrical sales & distribution with Graybar Electric.

Gordie was, and is, a very special person who will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Gordie’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
