Iqbal Kaur Sooch, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on August 23, 2026. Born on July 8, 1936, in Mahilpur, Punjab, India, she was the daughter of Surat Singh Bains and Satwant Kaur Bains.

Iqbal pursued higher education with determination, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Punjab University in May 1970 and her Master’s degree from the same university in May 1973. She worked as a teacher in India before emigrating to the United States in 1978. Her greatest accomplishment was bringing her family to America and building a new life for them here.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vir Singh Sooch. She is survived by her two sons, Arvinder Sooch and Vin Sooch, and her four grandchildren: Alex Sooch, Sean Sooch, Amanda Sooch, and Mia Sooch.

Iqbal will be remembered for her quiet strength, her commitment to education, and the deep love she held for her family.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 West 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, Michigan 48334.
